Siemens, a German industrial technology company, said it is working with Nvidia on printed circuit board inspection.

The collaboration combines digital twin software with Nvidia Cosmos to prepare optical checks before physical production begins.

Siemens’ Teamcenter and Process Preparation X provide board data and a digital twin of the printed circuit board assembly.

Cosmos then generates synthetic images of good and defective boards.

Siemens is demonstrating the workflow at its electronics factory in Erlangen, Germany.

Siemens said the project aims to cut manual engineering effort in automated optical inspection (AOI) program generation by up to 85%.

It also aims for 40% fewer false calls and more than 5% higher first-pass yield.

The initiative builds on a broader industrial AI relationship.

Nvidia said Cosmos is a physical AI development platform that can scale synthetic data generation.

Nvidia also promotes synthetic data for manufacturing inspection workflows, while Siemens has separately addressed false-call reduction in electronics manufacturing.
