Shopee, Sea Ltd’s Singapore-based ecommerce platform, has launched “Belanja Instant 1 Jam Tiba” in Indonesia, a one-hour delivery service for daily essentials from nearby retail partners including Klik Indomaret, Hypermart, Hero, and Segari.

Users place orders through Shopee’s existing Instant channel.

Eligible purchases come with a one-hour delivery guarantee or a voucher if they arrive late.

The initial assortment includes fresh produce, frozen food, household essentials, and over-the-counter medicines.

Shopee did not disclose which cities the service will cover first.

The launch brings Shopee into Indonesia’s quick-commerce market.

Astro advertises 15-minute delivery in Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, while HappyFresh says it can deliver in 30 minutes from selected supermarkets.

Research also shows that online medicine sellers in Indonesia are subject to maximum retail price rules, although licensing requirements for marketplace sellers remain unclear.
