ShopBack Pay enters ride-hailing via Tada partnership
ShopBack, a Singapore-based shopping and rewards platform, said on October 20 that it had partnered with Tada, a Singapore-headquartered ride-hailing platform, to let users pay for rides with ShopBack Pay and redeem previously earned cashback against fares.
Users can also earn up to S$10 (US$7.8) in cashback per trip.
During an initial phase through early October, ShopBack said it drove S$300,000 (US$235,000) in ride value on Tada.
It added that account linking doubled week on week during the same period.
The partnership extends ShopBack Pay into ride-hailing for the first time.
ShopBack already works with online and offline merchants in Singapore, and its payments arm is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a major payment institution.
For Tada, the partnership adds a rewards-based payment option to a platform with a zero-commission model for drivers.
Rival Grab already bundles transport and digital payments in one app.
