Shenzhen’s Futian district is offering up to 60 per cent rent discounts and cash subsidies, worth up to $1.4 million, for new semiconductor companies, aiming to promote self-sufficiency in the chip sector amid increasing pressure on technology from the US. The scheme covers multiple sections of the semiconductor supply chain and is part of a plan targeting strategic emerging industries, such as biopharmaceuticals and IT services.
