Shenzhen AI infrastructure firm Adtek eyes HK IPO

Shenzhen Adtek Technology filed for a Hong Kong IPO on May 15.

The Shenzhen company makes optical connectivity products for data centers, networks, and telecom operators.

Citic Securities and Jefferies are joint sponsors.

The deal could raise US$500 million or more at a US$3 billion to US$4 billion valuation, though the size, timing, and pricing are still being discussed.

The filing adds to a run of Chinese listings tied to AI and data centers.

Hong Kong IPOs have raised more than US$20 billion this year and recent optical stocks including Lightelligence and Semight Instruments posted sharp debut gains.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Adtek’s IPO case centers on AI optical links and a broader production base

  • Adtek describes optical connectivity as a base layer in AI data center buildouts 1.
  • Its products and research work center on dense systems for AI computing clusters. That includes Co-Packaged Optics (CPO), which places optical components closer to chips for better speed and power efficiency, plus support for 800G and 1.6T transmission speeds 12.
  • Adtek also lists a 35,000-square-meter factory with more than 2,500 staff in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. The company says this broadens manufacturing beyond China, and that it serves more than 70 countries and regions 34.

AI demand is raising the need for optical interconnect suppliers

  • The AI spending wave reaches beyond graphics processing units (GPUs) to the systems that link computing clusters, where optical interconnect is taking a larger role 1.
  • Adtek cites forecasts that 800G module shipments will double in 2025 to 18 million to 20 million units. It also says shipments could rise another 50% in 2026, driven mostly by large North American cloud companies 5.
  • Its production setup may also matter for Chinese hardware companies selling abroad. Adtek presents the Vietnam factory as a large manufacturing base that can spread output across locations and lower supply chain risk during geopolitical strain, though it does not call the approach ‘China+1’ in the cited materials 3.
