Shein set for Hong Kong IPO hearing on July 16, sources say

Shein, a Singapore-headquartered fast-fashion ecommerce company founded by Chinese entrepreneur Sky Xu, is set for a Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing hearing on July 16, according to two sources.

The step would move Shein closer to an initial public offering in the city after it secured Chinese regulatory approval.

In Hong Kong, a listing hearing is the stage where the exchange’s committee reviews whether an applicant can proceed.

If Shein clears the hearing, it can move to the next stages, including approval in principle, publication of near-final listing documents, investor roadshows, bookbuilding, and pricing.

The company has already secured approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission to seek a Hong Kong listing, after earlier plans for New York or London stalled amid regulatory scrutiny.

Shein could target a September or October listing at a valuation of US$40 billion to US$50 billion, about a year after it confidentially filed in Hong Kong.
