SG’s GLDB, 129Knots partner to tackle marine fuel liquidity gaps

Green Link Digital Bank (GLDB) and 129Knots announced a partnership on July 25, 2025, to tackle liquidity issues in the marine fuel industry.

The initiative will provide working capital financing through 129Knots’ Origination-to-Distribution (OTD) platform.

Marine fuel costs represent a significant operational expense for the shipping sector.

These costs often surpass capital costs over a vessel’s lifecycle.

Traditional financial systems have largely ignored these expenses, leading to a notable liquidity shortfall.

The partnership seeks to bridge this gap by offering structured receivables financing and programmable credit solutions tailored to the industry.

129Knots was established under Singapore’s Economic Development Board’s Corporate Venture Launchpad program.

The venture received support from McKinsey & Company, Enterprise Singapore, and IBM Consulting.
