SG-based agritech firm Rize raises $31m series B

Singapore-based Rize, a sustainable rice farming platform, said on July 16 that it raised US$31 million in series B funding.

The round includes US$20 million in equity led by BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts and US$11 million in debt financing from UOB, BIDV, and Temasek Foundation.

The equity round also included The Rockefeller Foundation, Temasek, and Breakthrough Energy Ventures, bringing Rize’s total funding to US$47 million.

Rize said it will use the money for export expansion, field-to-buyer traceability, carbon and innovation initiatives, AI tools, and growth beyond Vietnam and Indonesia.

Rize said its platform simplifies farmer onboarding, financing, agronomy support, and input and repayment tracking, while providing real-time monitoring tools.

The company lists operations in Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India.

The expansion comes as Europe increasingly digitises import certification and traceability for food shipments, and frameworks for methane credits from rice farming have been updated.

Rize said that in 2025, its Gold Standard programme had passed preliminary review for projects in Indonesia and Vietnam.

The market is also competitive. Grow Asia’s directory lists close to 70 digital agriculture solutions active in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), while Indonesia’s Eratani has also raised growth capital for rice-focused smallholder services.
