SG underwater robotics startup BeeX launches $7.4m series A

BeeX, a Singapore-based developer of AI-powered autonomous underwater vehicles, has launched a S$10 million (US$7.4 million) series A funding round to support international expansion.

The company focuses on Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs) used for subsea inspection across sectors such as renewables, defense, and offshore oil and gas.

BeeX says its HAUVs can operate with less human involvement than traditional methods, aiming to cut operational costs and improve safety.

The firm has developed a new HAUV model, BETTA, which it reports is fully booked for deployment through 2025.

Prior to this series A, BeeX raised a US$2 million bridge round in November 2023.

That round was led by ShipFocus Ventures and Earth Venture Capital, with participation from NUS Technology Holdings, SEEDS Capital—the investment arm of Enterprise Singapore—and Infinita VC.
