SG’s Neptune Robotics raises $52m for global expansion

Neptune Robotics has secured US$52 million in series B funding led by Granite Asia, with participation from Japanese shipping company NYK Line.

Neptune said the new funding will support research and development, expansion into 20 markets, and development of AI-driven service platforms.

The tech company, headquartered in Singapore, develops underwater robots that clean ship hulls, reducing the need for human divers.

Neptune says its technology can clean large vessels in under 24 hours and operate in challenging underwater conditions.

The company currently operates in 61 ports in Asia, which it says covers about 70% of international trade routes.

NYK Line said Neptune’s technology helps with fuel savings, emissions reduction, and compliance with environmental regulations.
