Singapore-based TacnIQ.ai, a startup developing technology that lets machines and robots interpret touch, said on September 22 it had secured US$1.5 million from lead investor In Group Holdings, a Singapore-based investment firm.

The investment is part of a US$3 million pre-seed round.

It will also scale deployments across logistics, construction, ecommerce, hospitality, and healthcare.

TacnIQ.ai said it has collected more than 5,000 hours of tactile interaction data from deployments and controlled experiments.

It added that it is working with Synaptics to help turn tactile intelligence into commercial hardware.
