🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
The product strategy behind a US$3.98 million pre-seed round
- Formas.AI works as an AI orchestration layer that brings tools like Google’s Gemini and Luma, an AI video-generation company, into one design workspace 1.
- Lead investor Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India backed that approach because it fits a move away from scattered single-use tools toward connected platforms 2.
- The platform includes separate studios for different jobs. One tool turns still images into video sequences, including construction timelapses 1.
- Architecture, engineering, and construction teams can replace several subscriptions with one platform. One team said it cut three software subscriptions to one 1.
A new model for vertical AI in older industries
- The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) software market could reach US$13–15 billion by 2030 2.
- Formas.AI goes after established vendors by tying workflows together and coordinating several AI models instead of leaning on one system 3.
- The platform tackles scattered work across project phases. Formas.AI says it keeps design intent, continuity, and creative control in place 3.
- The company frames the software as support for designers, with human oversight still required 2.
