Terra Oleo, a Singapore-based biotech firm, has exited stealth mode with US$3.1 million in funding and selection for Breakthrough Energy’s 2025 Fellows Program.

The company develops microbial technology to produce alternatives to palm oil derivatives and cocoa butter for personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food.

Backers include ADB Ventures, The Radical Fund, Elev8.vc, Better Bite Ventures, and a strategic investor from the palm oil industry.

Terra Oleo converts agro-industrial waste into fats and oils using precision fermentation.

The company has product testing agreements with global and regional firms in oleochemicals, food, cosmetics, and personal care.

The co-founders are Shen Ming Lee, Boon Uranukul, and Min Hao Wong.
