Singapore-based document automation startup FileAI said that it is expanding into Japan through a partnership with JRE Ventures PTE LTD.

JRE Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of East Japan Railway Group.

JRE Ventures will also make an undisclosed strategic investment in FileAI.

The companies plan to explore deploying FileAI’s AI platform at JR East Group companies. Initial work will focus on digitizing and restructuring legacy contracts and operational documents, extracting key terms and metadata. The project will also organize information into searchable repository.

FileAI said it is building a Tokyo team across sales, engineering, and customer success.

FileAI raised US$14 million in series A funding in February 2025. Its customers include Toshiba and MS&AD.
