Sequoia leads Israeli cybersecurity startup Corma with $60m
Corma, a Tel Aviv and San Francisco-based cybersecurity startup, has raised US$60 million in a seed round led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Khosla Ventures and Coatue.
Founded in 2025, Corma is developing foundation models for defensive cybersecurity.
The company deploys its model as an agentic security workforce that operate across security operations, identity management, cloud security, and network security using customers’ existing tools rather than as a conventional software product.
Corma said it is already working with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. In early deployments, its systems reduced threat-response times by more than 94%, the company said.
CEO and co-founder Alon Pluda said Corma is building its own foundation model for defensive cybersecurity as AI makes cyberattacks easier to carry out.
The company’s simulations found that general-purpose models acting as attackers succeeded in 88% of tests, while the same models acting as defenders detected only 12% of threats, Corma said.
Sequoia said Pluda has assembled a team of hackers and researchers.
