Former Sequoia partner Kais Khimji has launched an AI-powered calendar scheduling startup called Blockit, which aims to automate meeting arrangements.

The company, which recently closed a US$5 million seed round led by Sequoia, plans to use large language models to handle scheduling more effectively than previous solutions.

Unlike platforms like Calendly, Blockit’s AI agents communicate directly between users’ calendars to negotiate meeting times without human involvement.

The system can be activated via email or Slack, and it learns user preferences to prioritize meetings based on tone and importance.

Blockit is currently used by over 200 companies, including Brex and Rogo, and offers a free 30-day trial.
