Sequoia Capital leads $80m round in AI security firm Irregular

Irregular, an AI security firm, has raised US$80 million in a funding round led by Sequoia Capital and Redpoint Ventures, with participation from Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport.

A source familiar with the deal said the round values Irregular at US$450 million.

Previously known as Pattern Labs, Irregular develops tools to evaluate AI models’ security and has contributed to evaluations for models such as Claude 3.7 Sonnet and OpenAI’s o3 and o4-mini.

The company’s vulnerability scoring framework, called SOLVE, is reportedly used across the industry.

Irregular is building systems to test for new and emerging risks in AI models by simulating attacker and defender scenarios in complex network environments.
