SenseAI leads $1.2m seed round for AI startup Contineu

Bengaluru-based startup Contineu has raised US$1.2 million in seed funding led by SenseAI Ventures, with participation from Piper Serica Angel Fund.

The funding will support the startup’s efforts in automating data collection and quality monitoring on construction sites.

Founded in 2023 by Harshil Naik and Kanao Ramesh, Contineu has created a platform that uses helmet-mounted 360° cameras and AI-powered 3D computer vision models.

The funding will help expand Contineu’s engineering and product teams.

It will also improve its AI infrastructure and increase enterprise deployments.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Construction AI funding accelerates amid massive digitization opportunity

Contineu’s $1.2 million seed round comes during a significant expansion phase for AI in construction technology, reflecting broader industry investment trends.

The global AI construction market is projected to grow from $610.64 million in 2021 to $5.045 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of 35.70% 1.

This funding surge highlights the scale of opportunity in digitizing construction, an industry valued at over $10 trillion annually yet remains one of the least digitized sectors globally 2.

The timing is particularly strategic as ConTech startup funding reportedly hit $1 billion in Q1 2025 alone, showing accelerating investor confidence in the sector 3.

Contineu’s focus on automating quality monitoring addresses a critical industry pain point, as construction has historically struggled with manual data collection processes that impact project timelines and costs.

2️⃣ Real-time site intelligence emerges as key competitive advantage

Contineu’s helmet-mounted 360° camera approach represents a growing emphasis on capturing and structuring on-site visual data that was previously lost or manually documented.

Advanced computer vision technology is increasingly viewed as essential for construction efficiency, with McKinsey highlighting that real-time monitoring solutions can reduce project delays and cost overruns by identifying issues before they escalate 2.
