🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
SEEK names new Singapore lead as market cools
- Lee steps in after a softer year for Singapore jobs, with postings down 14.5% year over year in September 2025, yet still 36% above pre-pandemic levels 1. That signals a push on commercial know-how as employers get more selective.
- Her SmartHire work, an automated screening and talent-matching product, leans on SEEK Asia’s data 2. That background points to product bets with AI matching to stand apart from LinkedIn and Indeed 3.
- The move lands soon after SEEK unified Jobstreet and Jobsdb on one platform to speed releases 4. Her regional work can bring proven plays to Singapore.
SEEK expands verified credentials in Singapore
- SEEK Pass, a digital identity and credential wallet for candidates, is expanding into Singapore after verifying six million credentials across Asia-Pacific 4. That opens links for background checks, assessments, and credential services in Jobstreet’s verification flow.
- Across its platforms, about 1.5 million applicants move through each month 2, which differs from applications because one person may file several. With a push on high-quality matching through data tools 5, Applicant Tracking System (ATS) firms and recruitment software can pursue Application Programming Interface (API) deals to tap the pipeline as employers on Jobstreet or Jobsdb saw 83% more applications per ad in the first three quarters of 2024 versus 2023 4.
- A unified platform lets the company ship features faster across markets 4. Singapore could serve as a pilot for commercial products before a wider launch, so partnerships may be advantageous.
