SeaX Ventures joins $8m round for climate tech firm Brineworks

Brineworks, a climate tech startup based in Amsterdam, has raised €6.8 million (US$8 million) to scale its direct air capture (DAC) technology for e-fuels.

Investors in the round include SeaX Ventures, Pale Blue Dot, First Momentum, AiiM Partners, Energie360°, and Katapult.

The company also received a €1.8 million (US$2.1 million) grant from the European Innovation Council Accelerator to support research and pilot deployment.

Brineworks was founded in late 2023 and has moved from concept to prototype validation.

The new funds will be used to scale pilot systems, with the goal of commercial readiness by the end of 2026.
