Monee, Sea’s digital financial services unit, said on September 30 that it partnered with Great Eastern, a Singapore-based insurer, to sell travel, motor, and electric vehicle insurance plans on Shopee in Singapore.

The travel plans cover trip cancellations, flight delays, lost baggage, and some medical incidents linked to selected preexisting conditions, subject to terms.

The motor policies include electric vehicle-specific protection such as accidental damage to private charging stations, fire-related damage to home contents, and outpatient medical costs from electric shock while charging.

The products are underwritten by Great Eastern General Insurance Limited and distributed by MoneeInsure Agency SG Private Limited. Shopee Singapore serves only as the marketplace.

Sea rebranded SeaMoney as Monee in 2025. The partnership follows an earlier launch of pet insurance with MSIG on Shopee.

The electric vehicle-focused coverage comes as Singapore is transitioning to EVs and expanding charging infrastructure.
