The size of early-stage VC deals in Southeast Asia is increasing due to an abundance of available funds and challenging exit conditions, according to a report by Preqin, a London-based investment data firm.

Between the end of 2019 and end-October 2023, the average size of seed deals grew 31%.

Other contributors to this trend include falling valuations and increasing investor expectations caused by inflation and higher interest rates.
