SEA tech raised $7.4b despite fewer rounds
Tracxn Technologies, an India-based market intelligence platform, said Southeast Asian tech companies raised US$7.4 billion from January to June 2026, up from US$3.2 billion a year earlier, even as funding rounds fell to 127 from 153.
Late-stage funding reached US$6.0 billion. Seed funding rose 68% to US$328 million, while early-stage funding was steady at US$1.0 billion.
Singapore-headquartered companies accounted for US$6.9 billion, or 94% of the total.
DayOne, a Singapore-headquartered hyperscale data center platform, contributed US$4.5 billion across two series C tranches.
The increase follows a multiyear slump rather than a full recovery.
In the first nine months of 2025, regional funding had fallen 58% from the first nine months of 2023, with data center and AI infrastructure among the top-funded themes.
DayOne said its January series C of more than US$2.0 billion was led by Coatue and backed by Indonesia Investment Authority to expand AI-ready capacity across Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Tracxn counted 19 acquisitions and six IPOs in H1 2026, down from 34 acquisitions and seven IPOs a year earlier.
