Saudi fintech firm Erad secures $125m credit facility
Erad, a Riyadh-based SME financing platform, has announced an agreement for a US$125 million credit facility led by Jefferies, with co-investment from Channel Capital, which is pending finalization.
If completed, the deal will mark Jefferies’ first asset-backed financing transaction focused on Saudi SMEs and aims to support embedded finance solutions across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Erad said the funds are intended for deployment through CMA-licensed direct financing funds managed by Erad Partners Capital for Saudi-based small and medium businesses.
The new facility is expected to expand Erad’s offerings beyond consumer sectors to manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and real estate, with financing up to SAR 10 million (US$2.67 million) per ticket.
Erad recently raised US$33 million in a debt financing round led by Stride Ventures.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Facility structure will determine if US$125M scales Erad’s capacity
- Missing terms include tenor (how long the credit line lasts), pricing (interest and fees), and the advance rate (the percentage of collateral a lender will fund) plus facility type. A warehouse facility is a revolving line secured by originated loans before refinance or sale, while a securitization bundles loans into bonds sold to investors.
- If this is a warehouse, advance rates of 70–90% mean US$125M could support US$140–170M in originations (new loans issued). Securitizations use capital more efficiently but often need a longer track record than a 2022-founded lender has.
- Erad also raised US$33M in debt from Stride Ventures, signaling layered facilities. Scale depends on collateral eligibility, which sets what types of loans or borrowers qualify. Rollover mechanics govern how fast principal can be redrawn.
Open banking API providers in Saudi Arabia can capture embedded finance infrastructure demand
- Erad is expanding embedded finance (financial services embedded inside non-financial products) into healthcare and F&B, with manufacturing and logistics in scope. That push needs real-time data access, Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering (KYC/AML) checks, and payment initiation from providers.
- Tarabut Gateway is a regulated open banking platform in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). It is an Account Information Service Provider/Payment Initiation Service Provider (AISP/PISP) in Bahrain. The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) permits it to test in Saudi Arabia.
- SingleView, an open banking integrator, integrates with most Saudi banks and plans new releases in 2025. Rabet.sa offers banking Application Programming Interface (API) solutions. These providers create openings for investors and Business-to-Business (B2B) fintech operators to help address the roughly US$250 billion small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) financing gap.
