Saudi Arabia leads MENA startup funding in H1 2025

Saudi Arabia emerged as the top-funded startup market in MENA during the first half of 2025, attracting US$1.34 billion in investments.

This marks a 342% increase from the same period in 2024, according to a report by Wamda and Digital Digest.

The Kingdom accounted for 64% of the region’s total funding, led by the fintech sector with US$969 million across 20 transactions.

Other sectors, like construction tech and property tech, raised US$48 million and US$39 million, respectively.

Major investors included STV, Wa’ed Ventures, Raed Ventures, and JPMorgan, which joined a debt round for Saudi fintech Lendo.

Overall, MENA startups secured US$2.1 billion through 334 deals, up 134% year-on-year.
