Saudi Arabia bets on data centers to support AI ambitions

Saudi Arabia is expanding its AI efforts through Humain, a locally based company owned by the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund.

Humain plans to build up to six gigawatts of data center capacity across Saudi Arabia by 2034, partnering with companies such as Nvidia, AMD, Amazon Web Services, Qualcomm, and Cisco.

This week, Humain announced a US$3 billion deal with Blackstone to develop data centers in the country.

The company also launched Humain One, an AI-powered operating system designed for users to complete tasks through speech or text commands.

Humain has deployed the system internally, automating much of its HR, finance, legal, operational, and IT functions.
