Samsung to convert factories into AI autonomous sites by 2030

Samsung Electronics said it will convert its domestic and international production plants into AI autonomous factories by 2030 using digital twin-based simulations and AI agents to boost quality, productivity, and safety.

The plan will apply digital twin-based simulations across all processes from material receipt to production and shipment, and strengthen data-driven analysis and pre-verification through quality, production, and logistics AI agents.

It will apply the “agentic AI” introduced with the Galaxy S26 and leverage AI experience from its mobile business to manufacturing, so systems can plan and execute tasks autonomously, and it will gradually introduce humanoid manufacturing robots across all manufacturing processes.

The company also plans digital twin-based environmental safety bots to detect risks in high temperatures, high noise, and other challenging conditions to reduce on-site risks.
