Samsung reviews long-term HBM supply deals

Samsung Electronics discussed expanding sales of high-bandwidth memory chips at a strategy meeting last week. The company also reviewed long-term supply agreements with major customers, as AI demand for high-performance chips is rising.

Executives led by device solutions chief Jun Young-hyun examined ways to increase HBM sales and discussed long-term supply agreements with global technology companies.

Samsung said on its first-quarter earnings call that it had signed some long-term deals with major customers to better manage demand and strengthen business stability. Those customers include Nvidia, AMD, and Google.

The company began mass-producing HBM4 in February and shipped HBM4E samples last month.
