Samsung Electronics is moving about 1,000 employees to its new office building at the Taylor, Texas semiconductor complex, with relocations set to begin early next year, according to local officials and company representatives.

The site, spanning 4.9 million square meters, will eventually house a next-generation chip fabrication facility, utility infrastructure, and support buildings.

Samsung expects the Taylor fab to be operational by late 2026, producing advanced chips for AI applications.

The company has announced a US$17 billion investment plan for the project, which broke ground in 2022.
