Samsung opens ChatGPT, Gemini use to more employees
Samsung Electronics will let employees in its DX division to use Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude starting in June.
The company had previously limited the division to in-house AI tools because of security concerns.
Samsung said the rollout would be limited to employees who complete security training.
The company plans to use the tools for product and service planning, development, marketing, multilingual support for overseas business, and market and customer data analysis.
It will also continue developing Samsung Gauss, its in-house model for internal productivity, after its 2023 debut.
The rollout marks a shift from Samsung’s earlier ban on generative AI tools after a sensitive internal data leak linked to ChatGPT use.
Other South Korean companies remain cautious about external AI tools, including SK hynix.
