Samsung launches AI health assistant in US
Samsung Electronics has put Health Assistant in beta for eligible users in the US, adding AI to Samsung Health as it expands its wellness software.
Samsung said the tool uses data on sleep, activity, nutrition, mindfulness, and vitals to answer questions and offer personalised guidance. It can also use calendar events and user habits through Samsung’s Personal Data Engine.
The company did not specify which Galaxy phone, Galaxy Watch, or Galaxy Ring models will get the feature first.
Samsung has also introduced Galaxy Watch features including Vascular Load, which measures stress on the vascular system during sleep, as well as Running Coach and Antioxidant Index.
Vascular Load and Antioxidant Index require the Galaxy Watch Ultra or later Galaxy Watch models, while Running Coach requires the Galaxy Watch7 series or later.
Samsung said these metrics are for general wellness and fitness, not diagnosis.
The move puts Samsung alongside rivals such as Oura, a Finland-based smart ring maker, whose AI advisor answers questions using users’ sleep, activity, readiness, and resilience data.
