Samsung Exynos takes 9% of smartphone AP market in Q2

Samsung Electronics’ Exynos chips made up 9% of global smartphone application processor shipments in the second quarter, according to Counterpoint Research.

Samsung’s share rose from the previous quarter and a year earlier, helped by stronger Exynos shipments in premium and mid-range smartphones, according to the data.

The Exynos 2600 in Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series helped the premium segment.

Exynos chips in the Galaxy A57 and A37 helped mid-range shipments.

Exynos processors are part of Samsung’s System LSI semiconductor business rather than its handset unit.

Taiwan-based MediaTek, which makes Dimensity and Helio smartphone chipsets, led the market with 31%.

Qualcomm followed with 23%, while Apple accounted for 19%.
