Samsung to double Gemini-powered devices to 800 million this year

Samsung Electronics plans to double the number of its mobile devices with AI features powered by Google’s Gemini to 800 million units in 2026.

The South Korean company had rolled out Gemini-powered AI features to about 400 million smartphones and tablets by the end of last year.

Samsung, which is the largest supporter of Google’s Android platform, said it aims to bring AI to all products and services as quickly as possible.

The company is seeking to strengthen its position in the smartphone market against Apple and Chinese competitors, while also expanding AI integration in TVs and home appliances.

  • Samsung plans to double Gemini-powered devices to 800 million by 2026, but the smartphone market could shrink then due to memory chip shortages.
