Samsung disputes data seizure in India competition raid
Samsung Electronics has filed a legal complaint against India’s Competition Commission (CCI), alleging wrongful detention of employees and unlawful data seizure during a 2022 raid.
The case relates to CCI’s antitrust probe into alleged collusion between Samsung, Amazon, and Flipkart for exclusive online product launches.
Samsung claims that during a search, CCI officials detained three employees, seized their phones, and copied sensitive data.
In its document, Samsung describes the search as illegal and seeks the return of the seized data. It also requests that this data be excluded from ongoing investigations.
