Salesforce to update Slack with 30 new AI features

Salesforce said it will roll out an updated Slack in the coming months with 30 new AI features, including upgrades to its Slackbot assistant announced at a San Francisco event.

The biggest change is “reusable AI skills,” which let users create task templates for Slackbot and apply them across different requests, alongside a built-in skills library.

Salesforce also said Slackbot now supports the Model Context Protocol, allowing it to connect with external tools, including Salesforce’s Agentforce platform.

Slack’s interim CEO Rob Seaman said Slackbot can transcribe meetings, generate summaries, produce recaps with assigned action items, and it can also work outside Slack by monitoring desktop activity with user-controlled permissions.
