Salesforce launches AI-focused defense unit

Salesforce has launched a new business unit, Missionforce, to focus on integrating AI into defense operations for the US government.

Missionforce will work on applying AI to personnel, logistics, and decision-making processes in defense, the company said.

The unit will be led by Kendall Collins, who joined Salesforce in 2023 and previously served as chief business officer and chief of staff to Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

Salesforce has existing contracts with several US federal agencies and military branches but does not disclose contract details or revenue from these agreements.
