Salesforce India workforce tops 17,000
Salesforce said on May 19 in Mumbai that its India workforce surpassed 17,000 in 2026.
The US software company had more than 14,000 employees in India in November 2025 and is continuing to expand in the market.
Salesforce’s regional revenue rose 47% to US$1.5 billion, said Arundhati Bhattacharya, Salesforce’s South Asia CEO.
Salesforce also launched Agentforce Voice in Hindi.
The company said more Indian languages will be added in the coming months.
It also named Tata Realty, an India real estate company, as a new customer for the platform.

Salesforce’s growth in India picks up
- Revenue rose 47% in the fiscal year ending March 2025, up from 36% a year earlier 1.
- The jump came as Indian companies moved from small AI tests to wider use of Salesforce’s “agentic” systems, including Agentforce and Agentforce 360, AI tools built to handle tasks with more autonomy, according to the company 2.
- Salesforce is also expanding in India, with plans for its first Salesforce Tower in India in Bengaluru, a tech hub. Employees are expected to move in after completion in 2026 1.
Hindi AI agents open a new race in enterprise tech
- Agentforce Voice in Hindi aims to reach about 57% of India’s population that speaks Hindi as a first, second, or third language, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, smaller cities beyond the biggest urban centers 3.
- For global enterprise software companies, the contest now includes AI that can follow regional speech patterns, including code-switching between Hindi and Hinglish, a conversational mix of Hindi and English 3.
- The launch could help Salesforce grow among India’s 59 million registered small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Salesforce research says 78% of them use or test AI, which may lift demand for localized tools 4.
