Salesforce announced on July 6 that its Agentforce Commerce Shopper Agent, Buyer Agent, and Merchant Agent are now generally available across business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) commerce.

The AI agents are also available for order management and point-of-sale operations, following the company’s earlier rollout of commerce agents.

Shopper Agent handles product discovery, checkout, and customer service by checking inventory and delivery options.

Buyer Agent lets B2B buyers place repeat and negotiated orders through channels such as WhatsApp and SMS.

Merchant Agent helps retail teams manage catalogs and merchandising with natural-language prompts.

Salesforce said integrations with ChatGPT, Google Search, including AI Mode, and the Gemini app will be available in the coming months.

The OpenAI tie-up, Salesforce said, will sync catalogs from Business Manager, while orders remain on merchants’ existing commerce systems.

The company said AI influenced 20% of global online sales during the 2025 year-end holiday season, equivalent to US$262 billion.

It also said that 41% of customers in the Asia-Pacific region already use AI to discover products.

Salesforce said its holiday estimate was based on aggregated activity from more than 1.5 billion shoppers in more than 89 countries, while the Asia-Pacific figure came from separate company surveys.
