Salesforce appoints new senior VP, general manager for ASEAN

Salesforce has appointed Paul Carvouni as senior vice president and general manager for ASEAN, effective immediately.

Carvouni, who previously held leadership roles at Microsoft and Riverbed Technology in Asia Pacific, will lead Salesforce’s operations and growth strategy in Southeast Asia.

His appointment follows Salesforce’s recent expansion in the region, including the opening of a new office in the Philippines in October 2025, adding to locations in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia.

The company said Carvouni will focus on building sales and operational excellence across ASEAN.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Salesforce’s Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) footprint stays modest amid fast growth talk

  • APAC is Salesforce’s fastest-growing region with 10.5% revenue growth, yet it delivers only 10.4% of total revenue while the Americas contribute 65.8% 1. The regional push starts from a small base.
  • A new ASEAN general manager signals deeper focus on Southeast Asia 1. Salesforce has not shared an ASEAN revenue split within APAC 1.
  • Guidance says APAC should grow faster than other markets over the next two to three years 1. ASEAN revenue remains undisclosed, which makes the current scale hard to judge 1.

System integrators should invest in Southeast Asian language skills now

  • Agentforce, Salesforce’s AI agent product line for service and employee support, supports seven languages and covers 94% of global case volume 2. The set includes Japanese; Spanish; French; German; Italian; Portuguese 2. Indonesian; Thai; Vietnamese; Tagalog are not yet supported 2. SIs can fill the localization gap now.
  • Agentforce will add Tagalog; Thai; Vietnamese; Bahasa Melayu; Bahasa Indonesia 3. Early investment can create an edge for SIs.
  • Singlife, a Singapore-based insurer, ingested about 150 documents for its Agentforce rollout 4. The system reached about 80% accuracy in initial verification 4. That experience signals new demand for knowledge base prep and quality assurance for ASEAN insurers and financial services firms adopting agentic AI (AI systems that can take actions across enterprise apps with minimal prompting) 4.
