S Korean civic group sues Apple over iPhone 16 AI claims

A South Korean civic group, Seoul YMCA, has filed a complaint with the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) against Apple for misleading advertising regarding the iPhone 16’s AI feature.

They claim Apple initially promised the AI-powered Siri for iOS 18 but did not include it in the iPhone 16 released in September. The feature is now expected in a future update.

The group also alleged that Apple removed related advertisements from YouTube, suggesting the company knew about the delay but continued marketing the product without disclosure.

“We will closely monitor the investigation process and results, and take further action if necessary,” stated the Seoul YMCA.
