S Korea telco firm, Microsoft partner to launch AI center
South Korean telecommunications company KT Corp. has announced plans to launch the AI Transformation Delivery Center (AX Delivery Center) with Microsoft this month, bringing together over 300 experts.
Announced by CEO Kim Young-shub at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, this initiative aims to create AI solutions for corporate needs and enhance enterprise AI transformation.
It follows a five-year, 2.4 trillion won (US$1.6 billion) agreement signed in October, focusing on AI and cloud development.
As part of its AI strategy, KT and Microsoft will establish an AX strategic fund, with KT investing 13 billion won (US$8.93 million) and Microsoft providing GPU resources to support AI adoption in startups and Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs).
KT will also integrate its Mi:dm large language model with Microsoft’s AI solutions and collaborate with open-source models to develop market-specific AI technologies.
