Tooba, a social crowdfunding platform based in the United Arab Emirates, has launched its app in Malaysia to aid Malaysia’s indigenous population.

Known as Orang Asli, the community of approximately 210,000 predominantly lives in rural areas and faces challenges such as poverty, limited access to education, and inadequate healthcare.

The app currently raises funds for various initiatives, including building community schools, installing solar water pumps, and providing solar electrification systems and essential supplies.

Founded in Dagestan in 2018, Tooba has transferred over $26 million to various organizations across Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, and the USA.

Tooba claims it has over 300,000 active users globally.
