Russia has blocked access to Roblox, a US-based gaming platform popular among children, citing the distribution of extremist materials and “LGBT propaganda.”

The move was announced by Roskomnadzor, Russia’s communications regulator, which said the platform contains content that could harm children’s moral development.

Roblox reported 151.5 million daily active users in Q3 2025.

The platform has also faced bans in Iraq and Turkey over child safety concerns.

Russia’s recent laws have increased penalties for content it deems to support LGBT rights or extremism.
