Robinhood CEO’s AI startup Harmonic expands into chip design

Harmonic, an AI startup co-founded by Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev, said on October 27 that it was expanding its Aristotle model from mathematical proofs into software and chip design verification as AI-assisted flaw detection draws more scrutiny.

An October 2025 paper describes Aristotle as an International Mathematical Olympiad-level automated theorem-proving system.

Researchers recently used AI tools to uncover vulnerabilities in PHP, the widely used web programming language, prompting a global rush to patch them. OpenAI has also discussed coordinated disclosure of vulnerabilities.

The move also comes as the US National Institute of Standards and Technology has published an AI Risk Management Framework.

In chip design, Harmonic is entering the formal verification market. An industry analysis describes AI as supporting, rather than replacing, formal verification, while incumbents such as Synopsys already offer such tools.
