Ripple to acquire US-based platform GTreasury for $1b
Ripple will acquire GTreasury for US$1 billion, expanding its reach into the corporate treasury market.
GTreasury, based in Chicago, provides treasury management systems for corporate clients worldwide.
The deal is expected to close in the coming months, pending regulatory approval.
Ripple said the acquisition will help it offer digital asset infrastructure and treasury expertise to enterprise customers.
This is Ripple’s third acquisition in 2025, after its purchases of prime broker Hidden Road and stablecoin platform Rail.
GTreasury’s platform supports cash forecasting, risk management, and compliance for multinational firms.
Both companies plan to focus on enabling real-time cross-border payments and liquidity management for their clients.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Ripple’s patchwork may curb Fortune 500 uptake
- Ripple holds 55-plus US Money Transmitter Licenses (state-by-state approvals to transmit money), including New York and Texas 1. The announcement leaves out whether those licenses cover Ripple USD (RLUSD) and its payment rails in jurisdictions treasurers need.
- The company has a BitLicense (New York’s virtual currency business license) and a New York Limited Purpose Trust Company Charter (a trust charter often used for digital asset activities) 1. It also holds a Major Payment Institution License in Singapore (Singapore’s license for large-scale payment services) 1, yet the announcement stays vague on whether these cover the Ripple-GTreasury bundle or need more filings.
- Questions remain on MiCA, US stablecoin law, and bank charter progress. Ripple sought an OCC charter in July and applied for a Federal Reserve master account through its Standard Custody & Trust Co. affiliate 2. That slows rollout.
ERP integrators bridge legacy treasury systems
- GTreasury connects to major ERPs 34. Workday and NetSuite are covered. Workday plus NetSuite are covered, as are SAP plus Infor, with Oracle plus Microsoft Dynamics 365 also supported. Those links rarely cover blockchain rails or digital asset handling that Ripple adds.
- System integrators plus fintech middleware firms can craft connectors linking GTreasury’s ERP pipes to Ripple’s network, with Ripple USD (RLUSD) infrastructure included. That opens implementation and migration revenue with Fortune 500 treasuries.
- Infor ties cover cloud ERP work with GTreasury 5, and the firm offers an API catalog with 80-plus calls for payments and workflows 6.
