Reliance-backed Indian AI retail tech firm Fynd expands into Indonesia

Fynd, an AI-native retail technology company based in Mumbai and backed by Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, announced its entry into Indonesia to offer AI-powered commerce, supply chain, and design tools to local retailers.

Indonesia is the largest ecommerce market in Southeast Asia, and its digital economy is projected to exceed US$130 billion by 2025, according to Fynd’s announcement, presenting logistics challenges across the archipelago.

Fynd said its platform includes StoreOS for POS, Endless Aisle and clienteling; Storefront for brand ecommerce; Fynd Konnect for marketplace integrations; and enterprise-grade Warehouse Management (WMS) and Transport Management (TMS) systems for inventory and fulfilment.

It said it is rolling out Fynd Create – a design and production layer offering Design-as-a-Service, Garment-as-a-Service and AI-powered photoshoot tools – which the company says can help brands rely less on traditional sampling.

Fynd said it will partner with Asosiasi Pengusaha Garmen dan Aksesoris Indonesia (APGAI), a government-supported garment and accessories association whose members include Delami Group and Sorella Group.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Reliance’s backing gives Fynd a tested route to grow overseas

  • Fynd runs as its own tech company, with backing from Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) 1.
  • Reliance Retail uses Fynd for an ONDC pilot. Inc42 cites reporting that one Reliance Retail-owned store is live on ONDC’s seller side through Fynd 2. (ONDC is India’s Open Network for Digital Commerce.)
  • This work helped Fynd build know-how across many retail needs. It created tools for global brands like Diesel 3. It also runs Uniket, which has on-boarded 6,500+ stores in smaller Indian cities 4.

Emerging market tech firms are shipping full retail operating setups abroad

  • Fynd’s move into Indonesia 1 fits a broader trend. Tech firms from emerging economies now export full operating setups along with software.
  • Fynd built its platform for India’s complicated retail mix. It supports luxury labels and fragmented local shops. That makes it adaptable to markets with similar hurdles such as Indonesia.
  • The offer includes an end-to-end system plus AI tools. Those tools cut photography costs by 80% and raise conversion rates by 35% 3.
  • This trend puts India and Southeast Asia among the leading sources of vertically integrated retail technology used across global commerce.
