🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Consistent profitability growth amid hyperlocal market expansion

Justdial’s 36% profit increase comes at a time when the hyperlocal services market is experiencing substantial growth, projected to expand from $2,896.35 billion in 2024 to $3,367.9 billion by 2025, representing a 16.3% CAGR 1.

The company has maintained consistent revenue growth throughout FY25, with sequential quarterly improvements (Q2: ₹284.83 crore, Q3: ₹287.33 crore, Q4: ₹289.2 crore), demonstrating stable execution in a competitive marketplace 2.

This performance is particularly notable considering the company’s modest 2% YoY expense increase despite revenue growing at 7%, suggesting meaningful operational efficiency improvements as the business scales.

The hyperlocal market’s expected trajectory to reach $6,004.97 billion by 2029 provides Justdial with a substantial growth runway if it can continue capitalizing on shifting consumer preferences toward convenience and local services 1.

2️⃣ Strong financial position enabling strategic flexibility

Justdial operates from a position of financial strength with ₹49.4 billion in cash and short-term investments against just ₹934.9 million in total debt, resulting in a minimal 2.2% debt-to-equity ratio 3.

This robust balance sheet is particularly valuable as the company competes in a space where 46% of all Google searches now have local intent, creating both opportunities and competitive pressures 4.
