Reliance Industries may invest up to $15b in AI infra: report

Reliance Industries may invest between US$12 billion and US$15 billion in AI infrastructure over the next few years, according to a Morgan Stanley report.

The Indian conglomerate, led by Mukesh Ambani, has announced a new subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, to drive its AI initiatives, including the construction of a planned 1GW data center.

Morgan Stanley said about US$7 billion could be spent on the data center itself, with US$5 billion allocated for the company’s direct deployment of 250MW of chips.

Construction of the first phase is underway in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
