Rapper Heather Morgan, also known by her stage name Razzlekhan, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for her role in a 2016 bitcoin theft.

Morgan and her husband Ilya Lichtenstein admitted to the theft of bitcoin worth over US$3 billion from Bitfinex, a cryptocurrency exchange.

The current market value of the stolen bitcoin hovers around US$10.84 billion.

Lichtenstein, involved in executing the theft last week, received a five-year prison sentence.

According to the Department of Justice, Lichtenstein used advanced hacking techniques to breach Bitfinex’s network. Morgan was implicated in aiding the laundering of the stolen funds.
