The United States Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has announced new measures to restrict China’s ability to develop advanced semiconductors.

These components are crucial for military applications such as AI and advanced weapon systems.

The measures include controls on 24 types of semiconductor manufacturing tools and specific software used in chip production.

The initiative builds on earlier efforts to address concerns about China’s technological capabilities impacting US national security.
